Privacy Policy

Last updated: 2025-11-06

1. Overview

Detreck Corporation ("we", "us", "our") builds and operates Popilnus, an AI‑driven social guidance product. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, why we collect it, how we use it, and your rights. It covers data collected through detreck.ca and public information about Popilnus. For product‑specific data practices and in‑product controls, visit the live product at popilnus.com.

2. Information we collect

  • Account and contact information: name, email, organization when you contact us or request support for pilots or partnerships.
  • Product interactions and metadata: anonymized usage signals, message metadata, timestamps, provenance metadata, and non‑content signals used to operate and improve Popilnus.
  • Optional content and financial metadata: when users opt to make payments (tips, Guild contributions), transaction metadata and payout preferences are processed by our payment provider; Popilnus stores only necessary transaction records and compliance metadata.
  • Minimal PII principle: we avoid collecting unnecessary personally identifiable information; where PII is required (account creation, payouts), we store it securely and limit retention.
  • Logs and diagnostics: server logs, telemetry, and error reports used for service reliability and security.

3. How we use data

We use data to operate and improve Popilnus and detreck.ca, to provide support, to perform moderation and validation workflows, and for security, fraud prevention, and legal compliance. We may aggregate or pseudonymize data for analytics, model evaluation, and research. We do not use identifiable personal data for advertising purposes.

4. Data sharing and third parties

We do not sell personal data. We may share data with:

  • Service providers under contract who perform hosting, analytics, identity verification, and payment processing (for payouts and on‑platform transactions).
  • Partner validators or reviewers when required for an escalation workflow; only the minimum contextual data necessary for review is shared under contractual controls and confidentiality terms.
  • Law enforcement or regulators where legally required or to protect safety and legal rights.

5. Payments and the platform fee

Popilnus is free to use for general access. When financial transactions occur on the platform (for example, tipping creators or withdrawing funds from a Guild treasury), we apply a minimal platform fee to sustain the service. Payment processing (including payouts) is handled by third‑party providers (for example Stripe Connect) and their standard processor fees apply separately; those fees and payout terms are disclosed in the product UI and in the payment provider documentation.

6. Data retention and deletion

We retain data only as long as necessary for the purposes described and to meet legal obligations. Specific retention windows depend on the data type (account data, transaction records, provenance traces, logs). You can request deletion of personal data related to your account by contacting privacy@detreck.ca. Requests are processed in accordance with applicable law and our retention obligations.

7. Security

We follow industry‑standard security practices including TLS for data in transit, encryption at rest where applicable, role‑based access controls, logging, and periodic vulnerability scanning. Access to production data is limited to authorized personnel. For more details see our security summary or contact security@detreck.ca.

8. International transfers

Data may be processed in multiple jurisdictions. Where data is transferred internationally we implement appropriate safeguards, such as standard contractual clauses, and can support specific data residency needs for enterprise customers under contract.

9. Your rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have rights to access, correct, port, or delete your personal data, and to restrict or object to certain processing. To exercise your rights, contact privacy@detreck.ca. We will respond in accordance with applicable law.

10. Children

Our services are not directed to children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under applicable age thresholds without parental consent. If you believe we have collected data from a child, contact privacy@detreck.ca.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy; material changes will be posted with a revised date. Continued use of our services after a material change constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
